The matters of long-term sustainability of the Russian electric power sector development are being discussed in the book planned to be released in mid-September 2007. The supporting research was based on the Russian and foreign experience in long-range forecasting and planning of the large power systems. The priorities and strategic management tasks were set for the different time horizons. Recommendations were made for 25-30 years long-term forecasting, for 10-15 years mid-term strategic planning and for 5-7 years short term operational and investment plans. IN RUSSIAN

In 2006, the Russian power generating corporation EES Rossii has initiated a comprehensive study of the target vision of the Russian power industry development over a period up to the year 2030. In the book scheduled to be published by October, 2007, the ERIRAS participation in the above study is summarized with addition of prospective scenario of the Russian economic development based on the already existing global competitive advantages.
